I was a little nervous the brass would look too flashy, but it’s got this nice weight and a subtle glow that fits right in with my old house. The traditional shape feels solid, yet it doesn’t clash with my modern desk at all.
The oil-rubbed bronze finish is deeper and richer in person than I expected, and it feels like a piece that belongs in a proper old house. It’s got that Gilded Age vibe without being fussy—clean enough for my modern desk.
The brass version has this lovely weight to it that makes it feel substantial without being clunky, and the finish catches light in a way that shifts from warm to almost silver depending on the room. I've had it on my desk for two weeks now and it's become the little anchor of my workspace.
