Voor het eerst breidt Jesse Shaw zijn keramische werk uit naar hanglampen. Geïnspireerd door dezelfde traditionele, op vaten geïnspireerde vormen die centraal staan in zijn praktijk, verkent elke hanglamp de relatie tussen vorm, kleur en licht; ze functioneren zowel als sculptuur als lichtbron. Elk stuk is met de hand gemaakt door de kunstenaar en uniek.
The way the light filters through the ceramic shade completely changes the mood of my dining room — it's warm and soft, not harsh at all. I love that it keeps that traditional vessel-inspired silhouette, so it feels both handmade and modern.
The ceramic shade has real weight to it, which makes me trust the craftsmanship, but the cord could be a bit longer if your ceiling is high. Still, the way it brings that hand-thrown, vessel-inspired shape into our dining room is exactly what I was after.
The ceramic shade is lovely and the vessel-inspired shape definitely stands out, but the hanging kit feels a bit basic for the price. It works fine, just wasn't blown away by the overall finish once I got it up.
