Net als Endless is de Mini-collectie van Jason Miller oorspronkelijk ontworpen als een lichtarmatuur dat als architectonisch element fungeert. De schaal en constructie van Mini zijn echter geïnspireerd op houten scheepsmasten. Vóór geavanceerde materialen en industriële productie waren houten zeilschepen de technische wonderen van hun tijd. Uit noodzaak was de constructie even inventief als mooi.
The mast-inspired construction is what sold me, and it doesn’t disappoint in person—the proportions feel surprisingly solid for something so compact. I’ve got it hanging over a small reading nook and the light throw is just right for the space.
For such a small fixture, it really holds its own as a sculptural piece—the mast-inspired construction gives the room a quiet, nautical drama I didn't expect. Took a bit of fiddling to mount, but once it's up, the light it throws is warm and even. Exactly the architectural accent I wanted.
The mini scale makes it feel more like a building detail than a lamp, and the mast-inspired joinery gives it a surprisingly sturdy presence. I do wish the cord were a bit longer for my ceiling height, but it's a sharp piece once it's up.
