Bluff City merges a traditional pendant shade and a wire cage into an industrially inspired but refined pendant. A variety of finish combinations gives the light a vaguely postmodern feel that echoes the Memphis movement. However, the Tennessee town, known as Bluff City, was the inspiration for the series.
The mix of the traditional shade with that wire cage looks even better in person than in the photos, and the finish combinations give it a really unique, modern edge. I’ve been staring at it from the dining table all week—it's easily the centerpiece of the room now.
I was a little worried the wire cage might look too heavy, but the way it wraps the traditional shade actually makes the whole piece feel balanced and airy. I chose the mixed finishes and it's become the first thing guests comment on when they walk into the dining room.
