The Checa stool collection is based on the fluid nature of humanity juxtaposed with the feeling of being grounded. Spheres and circles are the natural state of water and we are water based lifeforms living on a water based planet.
The spherical seat feels like it was designed around the way I naturally shift my weight, and the grounded weight of it makes me feel stable even when I’m just perching for a minute. It’s become my favorite spot to pause with a cup of coffee and watch the morning light hit the curve of the wood.
It’s oddly calming to sit on something so perfectly round—the curve hugs you just right, and the whole thing feels solid yet light at the same time. I wasn’t sure a stool could feel this grounded, but it really does.
The sphere-shaped seat feels like it was designed around how the body actually settles, and the curved edges make it surprisingly comfortable for longer sits. It’s a solid piece that grounds a room without feeling heavy, which is exactly what I was hoping for.
