Helgerson's Del Playa is composed of turned wood stems and ceramic shades that recall her childhood on the beaches of Santa Barbara. The materials in this line feel very much of that time and place—the handcrafted aesthetic of California in the 70s.
The turned wood stems have this lovely, smooth weight to them that feels solid without being clunky, and the ceramic shades give off a warm, beachy glow that instantly relaxes the room. It's like having a little piece of coastal calm on my shelf, and the craftsmanship is really noticeable up close.
The ceramic shades catch the light in a way that feels warm and coastal, exactly the vibe I was hoping for. The turned wood stems have a nice weight to them that makes the whole piece feel substantial. It's a beautiful nod to that Santa Barbara beach aesthetic.
The turned wood stems have such a satisfying weight to them, and the ceramic shades give off a warm, beachy glow that genuinely takes me back. I've had mine for two weeks now and it's already the first thing guests comment on when they walk into the room.
