Miller's Knot collection is a distillation of a project done for the Heller Gallery. Large mirrors were framed and covered with intertwined “vines”. The Knot collection uses the smallest detail from those pieces to break the platonic frames and create a hanging points for each mirror.
The vine detailing is so intricate up close, it draws you in from across the room. I hung it in my hallway and the way the intertwined pattern catches the light makes the whole space feel more deliberate.
It’s rare that a decorative piece feels like art you can actually live with, but this one does. The vine detail is so delicate up close that it almost looks hand-woven, and the way it plays with light on the wall changes through the day. I keep catching myself just staring at it.
The way the vines interlock creates this incredible shadow play on the wall depending on the light. I hung it near a window and the smallest details from the original project really pop up close.
