Inspired by Japanese packaging, buoys, and shibari, Knotty Bubbles is a sculptural light made of hand-blown glass 'bubbles' bound together with knotted rope.
The hand-blown glass bubbles catch the light so softly at dusk, and the knotted rope binding them feels sturdy yet organic. It’s like a little piece of Japanese craftsmanship floating in my living room, and guests always stop to ask about it.
The hand-blown glass bubbles have a lovely organic texture, but the knotted rope feels a bit loose around them, so I’m careful when moving it. It looks great as a centerpiece, though I wish the knots were tighter for a sturdier feel.
The knotted rope binding looks great from across the room, and the glass bubbles do diffuse light nicely, but the whole piece arrived feeling a bit more delicate and smaller than I pictured. It's a beautiful accent, just not exactly the statement piece I was hoping for.
