Inspired by a ubiquitous form from the Gilded Age, The Met exists somewhere between opulence and simplicity, a traditional form updated for a digital age. The Met is available in brass or oil-rubbed bronze and hand-blown Italian glass.
The brass version feels heavier and more substantial than I expected, which gives it a real old-money vibe. It's sleek enough for my modern setup but still has that classic Gilded Age charm.
I was nervous the brass would feel too flashy, but it's actually got this quiet weight to it that fits perfectly on my desk. The traditional Gilded Age shape looks just as good next to my laptop as it does on the shelf, and it's already started to develop a nice, subtle patina.
